First thing before you read further is I want you to think about what does the words “Love” and “Unconditional” means to you?
The reason why I ask that is because now days the mass majority of the people in this world truly do not know what love is. Many will give you all the characteristics of what love feels like but it’s not what love truly is. Some will even walk around after experiencing some heart breaks and say love hurts. I used to be in that same boat after being heartbroken a few times. Then, when a new journey started and the willingness to be more open-minded, I came to realize that love is not an emotion.
Now let’s take a look at what “Google” says about the two words mentioned above (since google has all the answers right…)
Now google’s definition of love is
1. an intense feeling of deep affection.
2. a person or thing that one loves.
3. feel a deep romantic or sexual attachment to (someone)
Synonyms: (1.) deep affection, fondness, warmth, intimacy (2.) beloved, loved one, love of one’s life, etc. (3.) care very much for, feel deep affection for, adore, be devoted to, dote on, idolize, worship, etc…
Next, google’s definition of unconditional is not subject to any conditions.
Synonyms: wholehearted, unqualified, unreserved, unlimited, unrestricted, unmitigated, unquestioning, complete, total, entire, full, etc…
(…hmm, very transparent)
It seems to me that Google doesn’t really know the true meaning of Love either. It states three different things as what love could mean. I could sit here and say if you want to know what love is, get a Bible and read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. But some people read scriptures (those who believe) and don’t really comprehend and apply the meaning of it. People say The Most High (God) is love and Love is TMH because The Most High is truly unconditional. His love is unconditional and TMH is not defined by some kind of emotion. Love is too complex to be broken down. Emotions are like conscious mental reactions subjectively experienced as strong feelings towards certain objects or people.
So in other words, however you feel is your definition as to what love should be? If that’s the case then no one really knows what love is because everyone have different opinions about love.
True Love, not necessarily romantically, is driven with sacrifice. To know Love is TO BE Love (speaking of yourself as a whole and not by someone else). While I’m aware that everyone have different opinions about what Love is, it simply cannot be explained into a “fact”.
Have a great Sunday, Shalom!
P.S. What are your feedbacks about Love?
